Director General Tahir Nalg attended the 2nd Ulama Assembly
The Directorate General for Madaris Education’s head, Director General Tahir Guiamel Gandawali – Nalg, has been invited as one of the Speakers during the 2nd Assembly of Hay-Atul Ulama Bil Filibins, to have his thoughts regarding the “Bangsamoro Education Code and It’s impact on the Traditional Madrasah. “
Director General Nalg emphasized in his speech that the, “Bangsamoro Education Code strengthens the Islamic Education in the Bangsamoro that includes all institutions of Islamic Learning, among them is the traditional madrasah.” He further expressed that, “under the Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE) thru the Directorate General for Madaris Education (DGME) it is the first time in the Bangsamoro history that more than 3,970 Ulama became part of the government being hired as Islamic Teachers in Public Schools”.
Among the guests were the Bangsamoro Wali, Shiekh Khalifa Nando; Member of the Parliament, Ibrahim Ali; and Congressman Esmael “Toto” Mangudadatu of the 2nd District of Maguindanao.
The said assembly was attended by more than 600 ulama and aalimah and several leaders of the Bangsamoro Islamic Armed Forces (BIAF) of the MILF.
It took place at the Eastern Kutawato Islamic Institute, Poblacion Buluan, Maguindanao, last February 23, 2022.
