The 3rd and final phase of the Islamic Contextualization on Peace Education conducted in Jolo, Sulu
The MBHTE’s Directorate General for Madaris Education (DGME) in partnership with The Asia Foundation, is conducting the 3rd and final phase of the Islamic Contextualization on Peace Education for Asatiz from Traditional Madaris in Island Provinces of BARMM starting today February 25, 2022 in Jolo, Sulu.
This event’s 3rd phase is composed of a three separate 3-Day Training first in the province of Sulu, to be followed by Basilan and finally in Tawitawi to be attended by selected 20 Asatiz from each of the Island provinces. DGME Director General Tahir Nalg in his opening statement emphasized the importance of peace education in the Bangsamoro Education system as mandated in Republic Act 11054 also known as the Bangsamoro Organic Law as well as its Islamic Contextualization.
First phase of this program was held in General Santos City in September of last year attended by selected traditional Madaris Asatiz from Maguindanao, the Special Geographic Area and Cotabato City. The second phase was held in Iligan City last December 2021 and attended by Asatiz from the Lanao Divisions.
